Sun Hats & Stripes

Top: J.Crew (similar style here), Pants: Elizabeth and James (similar style here); Sun Hat: Target; Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Necklace: Lauren Elan; Sandals: Dolce Vita; Earrings: H&M

I decided to try out a different sun hat this past weekend, while the weather in Las Vegas was over 100 degrees. Normally when circumstances don't allow for a completely washed head of hair, the fedora always gets pulled out. This time, I wanted to try a more 'Kentucky Derby' look with the stripes and white trousers.

Remember Me??

Holy blog fail, Batman!! But no worries, the crazy fashion girl with the unhealthy shoe habit is back and hopefully will never go AWOL for such an extended period of time again :)

During my hiatus, I actually wrote down a whole list of topics to blog about but what better way to get back into the blogging spirit than with a post on new shoes?

Muffy

Top: J.Crew (similar style here); Pants: J Brand; Shoes: BCBG (similar style here); Hat: Eugenia Kim (similar style here); Necklace: Virgins, Saints & Angels; Watch: Michael Kors; Sunglasses: Fred Flare

It was such a relaxing weekend- even though the winds were 60mph in Las Vegas. Due to the powerful wind gusts, I knew it was not going to be a good hair day- thus, my Eugenia Kim hat. I have this same style hat in two other colors- and it is my 'go-to' when I am having a bad hair day or I know the weather is going to create it for me. Although the winds were wicked, the weather was 80 degrees in March- I tip my hat to you Las Vegas.

Door Table

Old doors make great tables- they are the right size and shape, and usually made of solid wood. I found this gem of a table at a local consignment store- and almost died. I have been looking for this exact table for quite sometime now. This door table, originally a door from Mexico over 150 years old, I knew had to be mine. This authentic rustic piece is now the focal point of our home. If you look closely at the first picture, you can even see the door hinges at the top and bottom on the left side of the door. The chairs did not come with that table- but also purchased the set of 4 at another local consignment store. It is not the perfect shade of pine to match the table- but that's why I loved them.

The modern accent piece on the top of the table really brings in the table to flow with the rest of our home.

Goodwill Hunting

Jacket: Vintage Oscar de la Renta; Top: Kain; Pants: Dylan George (also have my eyes on these); Shoes: Zara; Necklace: Vintage c/o Vintage by Misty; Watch: Michael Kors; Ring: Free People (similar style here); Sunglasses: Fred Flare

I rediscovered some great finds in the depths of my closet that I reworked a bit for this past weekend. This amazing vintage Oscar de la Renta jacket- makes me feel oh-so sassy. The outfit possibilities for the jacket seem endless. I have also worn this jacket just around my shoulders- Isn't it amazing how it can look and feel like a practically new piece of clothing that way?
